10.3: Another Palm HotSync fix
Authored by: daviddavid10 on Feb 13, '04 11:08:01AM

I had a similar problem once 10.3.2 was installed: I couldn't hotsync to my Palm (part of a Samsung I-300 cell phone/pda, connected via a KeySpan USA-19 USB converter). I tried the advice of one hint to use the key board USB port, but that didn't work either. I tried using isync, but couldn't find the palm conduit, never mind getting it to work (in isync 1.3) Nothing worked, until by chance I opened the Network System Pref for another reason. The preference panel dialogue spontaneously came up and indicated to me that "a new port, USA-19, has been detected. Click Apply to activate". I thought: I can do that. Thereafter, HotSync worked, without having to use an isync workaround. Now I can easily sync. This may help folks using a Keyspan adapter, or folks who can't get the palm hotsync to work.
