Add scene selections to non-iMovie movies
Wow! I have 14 hours of video to edit, encode for the web and add chapters to. Ever add QT chapters the old fashioned way? It is torture. Thanks for this hint. It may be the single biggest time saver I've ever gotten off this site. And that's saying a lot as this is a great site!

Another think I should have added was that you can us the Script menu item to launch al those scripts instead of using Script Editor. Comes in handy if you want to use it a lot. Just plop the Scripts in the ~/Library/Scripts/ folder and install the Scripts menu. Then you can just make a trip to the menubar to launch them.

FunkDaddy, have you actually gotten this to work? I can't get iDVD3 to create submenus for the chapters, even though Quicktime Player shows them.

I do believe iDVD4 is needed in order to recognize the chapter marks created in QuickTime.
Add scene selections to non-iMovie movies
All this seems to work, but, as soon as the chaptermarks are added and saved everything becomes unbearable slow. Opening in QT as well as importing in IDVD. When importing in IDVD, a giant swapfile is created on the startup disk, which does not happen with the original file.
Add scene selections to non-iMovie movies
I can't get iDVD4.0.1 to recognize the chapters after i've added them. In QT they are there but when the movie file is dragged onto iDVD i only get two chapters named 'start' and 'start 2' neither of which are the actual names of chapters. |
