I tried this and my speed was lower with it. Without it I tested at 2746 kbps d/l and 1034 kbps u/l on using @Home cable connection. With the tweak I got only 790 kbps d/l and 763 kbps u/l.

However, then I tried the "sudo sysctl -w net.inet.tcp.recvspace=65536" Terminal command, and tested again, and I got 2777 kbps d/l and 1047 kbps u/l

YMMV... reports from VersionTracker seem to show this works for most people.

just a comment the second variable is the same as the one the program replaces.
