Prevent Safari Downloads window from grabbing focus
I want to see it every time too, but I don't want it to have the focus. :-)
Prevent Safari Downloads window from grabbing focus
I like to have the dl window just slightly offset to the side of the open Safari window. That way it doesn't steal focus but I can see that a dl is in progress when a site doesn't give me feedback.
the best overall solution???
maybe the best idea would be to incorporate the download window into a window drawer that could pop out left or right of the main window and slide shut after the downloads complete... this would make it always visible when downloading but not grab focus and sort out of the way.
the best overall solution???
This "drawers" solution, like the mailboxes in Mail, is a great idea if you've got the screen real estate, but for iMac and iBook users, who are limited to 1024 x768 this can be a real pain. The latest iCal is the perfect example, where we can no longer run it at full screen size because we have to allow for the (non resizeable) drawer to pop out. |
