OK -Great! Now I know how to use the option key to resize all columns! Thanks for posting this tidbit.

Now, what I would like to know - How do you set a default column width that is narrow enough to show a few columns when first opening a finder window?

Duuuhhhhhh-uuhhhhhhh!!!! I think I answered my own question! Using the option key to resize all columns sets that spacing as the default spacing!

Sorry for wasting the bandwidth otherwise!
