10.3: A possible fix for a black screen during install

I am having this problem on the Quicksilver. Other people have reported that changing your monitor settings to 800x600 and reducing the amount of colors to 256 helped them out. I have not tried either approach yet, but I may give it a shot tonight.

10.3: A possible fix for a black screen during install

I had this problem also. The 3rd Party memory, SimpleTech, worked fine in Jaguar in my new Powerbook G4 (the lastest version) but when I went to install Panther the computer froze up just before the login screen. Every single time. I tried every trick I new and some I had to call people to learn. Nothing. Took out the 3rd party memory and now she works perfectly. I haven't tried to re-install it yet as I don't want to risk locking anything up right now.
