A workaround for AIM profiles in iChat
I'm confused by what the poster means by "can't have a profile". I've got two profiles in my iChat (three if you count my .Mac account) with no problem.

They're not AIM profiles.
AIM proper gives you a few hundred characters of HTML that you can fill with whatever you like, sort of like your own miniature web page.

You're thinking of profiles in the sense of storing information about different accounts. AIM profiles are small text areas in which users express themselves. They can be seen by looking at an AIM user's info.

I think the profile he meant is the profile that other people can check if (under ichat) they right click on your screenname and click get info. Ichat doesn't allow you to change this. When people try to view your profile, it's either blank or saids "no information provided" (something like that). The windows version of aim and the aol version of aim lets you change your profile. |
