10.3: Restore internet printing from Windows

how does one "make sure the windows drivers are using the 'raw' print processor"?

i seem to have everything set up on the mac side. however, when i go to add the printer on the windows side using "http://<ip>:631/printers/<printer>", it fails and tells me the specified printer is not available. if in a web browser on the same windows box (running win2k if it matters), i go to the same url, i get a cups page showing the desired printer's status, so this would seem to confirm that i have the correct url and printer name.

cups logs don't seem to record any errors. i see what look like normal "post" requests coming from the windows box. nothing to go on in terms of what is causing the error.

XP:
Start->Printers and Faxes
Right-click on the printer and select Properties
Select the Advanced tab
Select the Print Processor button

2K:
Start->Settings->Printers
Right-click on the printer and select Properties
Select the Advanced tab
Select the Print Processor button

Unfortunately this didn't help my problem of print jobs never arriving at the server.

I've got exactly the same problems than yours. All seems ok from Windows but nothing when I try a test page. It failed too when I try to connect with an URL, and I can't do a lot of things with this web page from gimp-print (http://x.x.x.x:631/...), only print a test page, and see formers print jobs. Interresting to note that as on the macos with the admin rights, I don't have a lots of access in this web page.

But I've found some ways perhaps to explain.

First, on win 2k, verifie that it accept the driver for the printer one time's connected. You can't add a Security user, as me on the macos ("administrator" isn't recognised on the mac).
(raw print is in advanced/print processor)
In winXP, it's different. Verify that Samba's port is cheked, and now, it can add new security account, but in fact, it don't print.

To conclude, I don't have a real solution, but , as said on bottom, it 's probably a problem on Macos, and , for me, it's a problem of rights on the macos.
