Both services have their strengths and weaknesses.

For example, I found out the hard way about an undocumented limit to the number of alerts you can set in VersionTracker before it becomes impossible to edit your alert list. That cripples how VT can be used as a dynamic software bookmark service. And the only "solution" is for the *entire* list to be cleared, erasing all alert history built up over a period of time. I'd think that problem could have been avoided with better database design/implementation/testing. I wonder if MacUpdate has a similar limitation with its watch list...

MU is significantly faster than VT for displaying the equivalent content. I'd like if MU displayed star ratings on the main summary listing like VT.
