Won't Startup!
Authored by: dihakz on Dec 29, '03 10:43:58PM

I've tried this out, and everything worked great... but when I went to install, the computer would not install from the DVD since it needed to start up from it. So I restarted and held the 'C' key in, and it did not work.

Nor did it work when holding in 'Option' ... the DVD was not a choice in the list of startup disks!

What gives?

How can I solve this problem?

Please help!!!

Darren

I was having this problem all day yesterday and finally figured it out... In Disk Utility where you might see something like this:

Disc ID
Session 1
Mac OSX Install

Do not select the root. Select the "Mac OSX Install" partition when making the new image. Then follow the instructions for enlarging and adding the extra files.

After making several coasters I was finally successful in creating a working disc!

Hope this helps.

i made successful copies from a DMG created by selecting the "Session 1" item and then choosing "Images > New > Image from diskNsN" (whre diskNsN is 'disk4s1' or somesuch).
