You will also find that it's not always the first letter [of a menu item] that gets you there. For example, in Camino, if I ctrl-click this web page, I see two menu choices that start with 's': "Select All" and "Save As ...", but pressing the 's' key never moves me to "Select All".

Instead, the first press takes me to "Save As ..." and the next press of 's' takes me to "View Page Source", which indicates that these two menu items are somehow linked to the letter 's', while the "Select All" menu choice is not.

Somewhere is a file that stores these menus and determines which menu choice is linked to which letter key ......
