Copy contacts from an Outlook .pst file to Address Book

you can get your contacts moved across just fine if you can save them in vcard format (vcards can of course be dragged straight into address book). I have done this, though I couldn't tell you exactly where the command is - it is non-obvious, but it is there.

Heh. If only more people are as forward-looking as you when moving platforms. ;)

I kept backing up .pst files for the longest time when in Windows land, but didn't even think to do many of the required conversion tasks before ditching the machine. AddressBook even handles the vcard import a lot more cleanly than ABFiller can. In fact, ABFiller's parent, LibPST is capable of turning the .pst file into mbox and vcf files. This was just an attempt at speeding up and simplifying the process for other gun-jumpers like myself. :)

that's fine but if you try to bulk save more than one contact it will only allow you to save as text, not Vcards.
If you drag them all off as individual contacts they come off as .msg files which are useless.

That is explain on the Apple's switcher site. All you need to do is very simple:

open your address book on Windows
select all your contact
drag them to the desktop (or whatever you want)
the address book will create VCF card per contact you have

Then import them to address book on your mac.

As a switcher I did it and it worked just fine.
