FYI this brings up the same dialog as going into Terminal and selecting File--Connect to Server.

The dialog in this hint is part of Terminal.app and is not the same as the Finder's "Connect to Server" option.

Granted it has a similar purpose, but it does work differently.

For example, there is a configurable list of services to choose to connect with. Also the connection is made in the CLI just as if you'd typed the command, rather than in the Finder as with the Finder's "Connect to Server" option.

In reality, the Terminal's Connect To Server dialog is nothing more than a command-builder for the CLI commands ssh, sftp, ftp and telnet....it has the benefit of having a prebuilt list of hosts via rendezvous.
