10.3: Easily move Address Book images to T610 phones

I actually did the opposite, as most of the pictures for my contacts were taken with the T610's camera. I sent all of this to the Mac and put them in addressbook.

All in all I believe it would be a great idea if someone made this automatic, as it is in Symbian phones like the P800. It's very easy to have to reset the iSync contacts and then pictures and default numbers are lost.

Another problem with the Folder Action mentioned here is that it simply does not work on files that have foreign characters. I discovered that many of my contacts have Norwegian æøå or German üäö were simply left in the TIFF folder, and not converted to JPEG. I would also recommend using GraphicConverter to strip off all the excess garbage. The T610 doesn't exactly pack a lot of memory.

GraphicConverter or Photoshop (using the "Save for web" option") is a must if you have lots of contacts.

I use a 128x127 pixel (the size of the T610 desktop) crop in Photoshop and save it with a low but reasonable quality. Usually appr. 2-3k files. Thoose files are then added to Address Book and zoomed to just fit the important part of the face (eybrows to cheek).

Why I want a more zoomed picture in Address book? In Mail you always see the whole picture, but it's small. In the T610 it's usually partly covered with text (i.e. "Jon Doe calling"), wich is ok if it only covers someones neck or cheek. On the other hand it's a little bit bigger...
