10.3: Connecting a Mac and a PC via IP over FireWire

It is even easier than this. I just used DHCP on both machines and left the other ports active. On the client machine I dragged Firewire above Airport and ethernet and on the parent machine I turned on Internet Sharing for the Firewire port. I was then able to surf the web and file share using Rendezvous names through the firewire connection.

Ooops. Of course the Rendezvous part won't work on the PC side! ;-)
