How does one setup this Firewire file sharing with two macs?

I want to continue using my ethernet connection for all http/ftp services, but I do want to use my firewire connection for Apple file sharing between two macs both running panther...

Should I keep Ethernet on top of the Network Port Configuration screen and just manually set the Firewire connection to a manual IP address like expressed in the above hint?

Do the same steps for the Mac on the other Mac, only this time using 10.0.0.2, instead of 10.0.0.1. It might even be smart enough such that you don't have to set a new IP. Windows isn't.

By the way, there's a bug in my hint: the FTP URL should be: ftp://10.0.0.1/~your username/ Note the tilde.
