Resolving Duplicates can create problems, too
Authored by: jiga on Nov 13, '03 05:20:29PM

Fonts in fontbook often have a dot behind their name. This indicates that the same font exists in more than one location. Using "resolve duplicates" in the edit menu automatically deactivates the duplicates, but beware: I've tried this, and suddenly Safari rendered certain fonts with incorrect kerning: invidual letters were too close together or even overlapped themselves while leaving big gaps in other places.

Just a word of caution.
