Apparently, you can still use Jag's Disk Copy in Panther (there was a note in MacFixit.com few days ago)...
I haven't tryed very hard, but I know that it crashes on quit.

Yes, you can use Disk Copy from Jaguar. I read that it wasn't in the Panther build before I installed. So I copied it from my old system, along with Key Caps. It works just fine.
My guess is that you could use Disk Copy from 10,1 or plain old X as well.

Every time I tried to use the old Disk Copy it failed.
