Insert cdrom, select cdrom in disk utilities left pane, click new disk image. That doesn't seem so hard to me.

Let's see, I want to COPY this CD. OK, where's the copy command? Hmmm, maybe it's called duplicate. Nope. OK, so I guess I want to make a new image. Now, do I click on the device, or on the volume (I know, this is a UNIX quirk..). Now, save image on your hard drive. Now, insert your blank CD and hit "restore"...nope, that doesn't work. Oh, there's a burn icon up there...? Ah OK, there we go.

Oh, and you have to go through all of this, even if you have a second CD-ROM drive, you can't just do a CD to CD copy.

I guess you're just smarter than I am, seemed to be a lot of places a user could go wrong here.

Well, well, well - I guess Apple does not offer copy from CD to CD since they don't support computers with two drives...

I agree with you wholeheartedly...and that's why apps like CD Session Burner with a very intuitive interface (plus it does several other things as well) continue to get widespread use. Apple normally makes things extremely simple even for new users but the group that codes this portion of the OS has worked overtime since 10.0 at making copying much more difficult (non-intuitive) than it needs to be.
