Found it. View decimal. Thanks to all for these hints. I now don't have to drag out my HP from the drawer. I had an RPN calc, but it went away somewhere along the line. I think it was called CalcWorks. Pre OS X.

This is excellent! My HP32SII has been broken for months. This should be submitted as a separate hint.

Thanks!

View Decimal? You mean View menu -> Display Format -> Decimal? That causes the calculator's display to appear in decimal, but the input from the keyboard is still interpreted as hexadecimal. For example, if you change the display format to decimal, when you type 20, it displays 32.

You might want to check out x48, a free HP 48GX emulator that looks and works just like a real HP 48GX.

The download link on Apple's page doesn't work, but it can be obtained at this site (direct download).

x48 is great. it's so much like my real 48gx that it falls asleep if you leave it along for a while ;)
