this works since, apparently, Safari simply copies text as RTF as well as plain. The RTF is pasted by any program that can handle it (pretty much any Cocoa program, I would think, since RTF handing is built into the system.) The RTF includes markups which are analogous to
<a href=...> </a>[\code] tags in html.  Still, and all, rather cool!
