It's actually more than just TextEdit, because I had the same experience (and was about to submit a hint regarding) with Stickies. Copy text in Safari (the only browser I use, so I can't test with Omni), hit shift-apple-Y and you've got a new sticky, with active links! (Also works via a speakable item.) Cool.

Hmm, I can't make active links work with Jaguar using any methods described here.
