Does anyone else have the problem where the Applications icon in the sidebar is different from its folder icon, and refuses to change?

Yes. But I have no idea how to solve it (for certain). One method by which I have had soem luck is to rename the initial folder, cerate a new folder, paste the proper icon, add it to the sidebar, and rename the folder, trashign the original folder. This worked for some.

I have no idea how some of the icons are stored so that a different icon will apear in the sidebar that if you do a Get Info on it. I think it to be a bug.

Also of note: you cannot add aliases to the side bar... they just follow through to the original item to get the name.
