wow, you can also paste custom icons onto your default home-folder folders, like Documents and Library, just like you could before 10.2 (i think), that is, without hacking the system icons.

Does anyone else have the problem where the Applications icon in the sidebar is different from its folder icon, and refuses to change?

Yes. But I have no idea how to solve it (for certain). One method by which I have had soem luck is to rename the initial folder, cerate a new folder, paste the proper icon, add it to the sidebar, and rename the folder, trashign the original folder. This worked for some.

I have no idea how some of the icons are stored so that a different icon will apear in the sidebar that if you do a Get Info on it. I think it to be a bug.

Also of note: you cannot add aliases to the side bar... they just follow through to the original item to get the name.
