10.3: Upgrade CDs require existing 10.2 installation

On Tuesday I received my new 17" Powerbook. It came with a software restore CD, XTools and the upgrade version of Panther. That's it! Jaguar was installed on the machine. Of course, I immediately upgraded to Panther. But I don't have full version CDs of any OS X, just an upgrade version of Panther. If I ever need to wipe the hard drive, I will not be able install the OS. I'm going to email Apple and see if they can send me a full version of Panther.

Nevermind. I called Apple. The Software Restore CD is actually a DVD that has a version of 10.2, OS 9 and whatever else I need. I'm used to having five or more CDs with all the software. Therefore, I do have everything I would need to restore the machine to Panther. Although, it would require a couple of extra steps.
