What can it do?

I'm a little confused about exactly what I can do with IP over firewire... I've succesfully managed to get internet sharing working between my G5 and my 12"PB with the firewire, but is there a way I can keep the two connected to the network individually and connect between them to transfer files with firewire? Basically what I want is to connect between the two computers kind of à la target disk mode except without having to render one of the comps unusable.

I believe that this is exactly what you can do. The idea is to have two servers and one will take over for the other in case of failure.

It can do anything NetworkingOverEthernet or AirPortNetworking can do.
