10.3: Add IP over FireWire networking

Maybe "6 to 4" has something to do with 6pin and 4pin firewire cables? Some cables start 6pin and then terminate 4pin. I was under the impression that the extra 2 conductors only carried power, but maybe it could affect the transmission?

Could it also have to do with attaching an external FireWire device that is visible over IPv6?

i.e. Could I use a 6-pin FW connection from the computer to a 4-pin FW connection on a phone/camera/ext HD which is IPv6 aware and get address translation/hosting?
