Now does anybody know where I can find a list of supported scanners? I'm hoping not to have to replace my UMAX, but right now it's software is the only thing I use Classic for. :(

Image Capture can use any scanner that uses its native ICA (Image Capture Architecture) or Mac OS 10.2 TWAIN Data Source drivers. Thus far, I've only found that Epson is making such drivers, but there may be a few others out there. 10.2 (and I assume 10.3) comes with a few of these already, but you can go to Epson's site and download more. The "EPSON Scanner" driver for Image Capture included in 10.3 supports the following scanners:
