Anyway to set the computer to switch to another user after a certain amount of inactivity? (In addition to putting the monitor to sleep)

I want my sister or brother in laws to be able to access the Guest account whenever but I never remember to switch to the guest account. If I enable the screensaver they cant login without my password.

I would like the computer to switch to guest and put the monitor to sleep after 5 min.

I'm sure that could be done with AppleScript but...

On my machine there is a "Switch User" (bottom left-most) button on the password prompt that comes up to unlock the screensaver. That window rotates out and the login window rotates in (just like switching users). In fact, if you then "re-login" as yourself, it rotates back to the unlock-the-screensaver prompt and you have to "re-re-login". Pretty cool.

Is that not available to you? If not, it could be a setting I could hunt down for you.

Hmm... or does it just not allow you to switch to a guest account? I don't have a guest account on my laptop - too paranoid I guess. ;)

And, oh yeah - the exact same behavior is exhibited on wake from sleep. Just set your machine to go to sleep after whatever amount of time you like and -- if you have the "Require password to wake this computer from sleep or screen saver" option in the Security control panel on -- anyone should be able to access their account from your screen saver or your sleeping account.

Of course...

There's also the "Log out after xx minutes of activity" preference in the same place... Maybe that's more your style.
