I think this is how the old Netscape threading used to work. The only problem with this method is that often I will just find an old email from someone and reply to it instead of copying and pasting email address. The threader would then think that this unrelated email is part of the original thread (or the user on the other end would think so too). I guess the new menu things in Panther's mail.app obviate my lazy method of sending an email, though.

I do that, too. Just be sure to delete the "In-reply-to" header in your response message if you really aren't creatiing a continuation of the thread.
