10.3: Access the 'Go to folder' box in Open/Save dialogs
Even better:
If you merely start typing a full path in an Open or Save dialog, starting with "/", the system knows that you're specifying a path reference, and brings up the "Go To Folder" dialog immediately - no need for typing "Cmd-Shift-G" first. And, in case everyone isn't aware of the other features of this "Go To Folder" dialog:
Overall, with "Go To" functionality still in place, the new Open/Save dialogs are a HUGE leap forward from previous OS X releases. Trés cool! ;-)

I've noticed that doing that in carbon apps in the Open dialog this won't work for some reason. Save dialog works though.

That's because it doesn't work. Why don't people check things like this in Carbon AND Cocoa before making sweeping statements? ;-) |
