I can no longer put folders in the toolbar. Is this impossible in Panther? This is otherwise a huge waste of space if you want to keep the back, view, etc. buttons.

Just go to Customize Toolbar and you can add and take away stuff. Also, you can drag any folder and app up to the topbar just like befor. But to remove it just open Customize Toolbar again. here is an example of how i configured mine: http://homepage.mac.com/sharkdrive/PantherFinderWindow.jpg

To remove an item, you can Control-Click it and from the contextual menu select "Remove Item". This saves a trip to the Customize Toolbar setup.

You can also command-drag items in the toolbar to drag them around, and command-drag them out of the toolbar to (poof) remove them.

The delay before the icons in the toolbar move has been increased. In any Finder window, just drag an icon to the toolbar and wait a couple of seconds until the stuff moves around, and then you can place it where you want. You may have to drag into an area with no icons, if you drag near a folder/disk it thinks you want to move/copy the item into it.

you can put folders in the toolbar. when you drag it up there simply hold command, and wait for one second. it'll go.
