G5 keyboard fails on certain Belkin Omniview KVM switches

The problem I think is one of power draw by the keyboard. I have been using the a SOHO for quite awhile and when I got it the microsoft natural keyboard refused to work. I tried a bunch of other keyboards and what I found was any keyboard that had usb hub like features seemed to cause too much of a power drain on the keyboard port.

Here is my solution though its not so elegant. I plugged my old black keyboard from my G4 into the keyboard port (to stop the incessant beeping) and plugged my microsoft keyboard into one of the shared usb ports. This lets me use the keyboard on both my Mac and my PC and keeps the SOHO from yelping.

Yes, I know the black keyboard has "hub like" functionality but I always had power problems using my black keyboard usb ports for powering anything other than a mouse which is why I suspect it doesn't draw as much power.

I could be totally wrong about the power thing but the solution (though not ideal) at least works :)
