SideTrack - Add new functionality to your trackpad
This is amazing - and I've been looking for something like this for a long time. But what I really like is the ability to completely disable the trackpad and button when you have a mouse present. I use a mouse (on my left hand) to avoid repetitive stress injuries, but I often get lazy and use the trackpad with my right hand. This app forces me to use the mouse!

Panther provides the option to ignore Trackpad when mouse is present.

Jaguar also offers this functionality. Look in the "Keyboard & Mouse" preference pane, under the "Trackpad" tab, and you'll see an "Ignore trackpad when mouse is present" option (at least it's there in 10.2.8)

I guess there's not much point in posting a reply after all this time, but this option really did work for me in 10.2 (I'm now running 10.3). It may not have worked for others, but it most definately worked for me. |
