Printing Problems from OSX to LaserJet 4M! HELP!
Authored by: Tararthur on Sep 29, '03 11:58:45AM

After getting nowhere with Apple tech support, HP tech support, and with two IT specialists who have devoted tremendous personal time to try and resolve this matter, I'm now turning to you folks out there. I own an HP LaserJet 4M printer and recently upgraded my system from OS 9.1 to OS 10.2.6. Since making the upgrade, I have been unable to print any documents to my printer that contain color Postscript data. Even a simple Web page will either spool endlessly or send, then fail to print. The only workaround I've discovered has been to save the file I want to print as a PDF, then select from the PDF options "grayscale: composite". I've been using this method as a band-aid of sorts until I can discover a real solution to the problem. Apple sent me to HP and insists that it's their problem. HP told me that my printer was too old, and that the only solution was to buy a new model. I'm not satisfied with either of these answers. Does anybody have a better answer?

Thanks much!
