A fix for 10.2.8 updater killing network connectivity

you're probably on a 100baseT or 1000baseT switch. It's the 10baseT connection that isn't connecting.

I talked to a guy who knows the Project Manager for 10.2.8. He says he's the most laid-back guy he knows and he's never seen him this upset.

This is a tough one, because not everyone will figure out how to get back on to learn how to fix their machines.

At least they found out about the problems with these Sawtooth Ethernet chipsets before shrinkwrapping a few hundred copies of Panther. I feel for them, and I have a new suggestion for their compatibility labs.
