A fix for unmountable audio CDs, revisited
This will of course delete all CD and track names stored by your computer, but not really a problem if you have a good internet connection.

NOPE! CD Info.cidb is only used to displays tracks and CDs names in the Finder. iTunes/OSX still uses the files CD Remote Programs and CD Remote Programs Plus from the old days... By the way this is not related to OSX 10.2.6 (I had to fix that last year!) but to the file CD Info.cidb (introduced with iTunes 3.0) that is very buggy and becomes corrupted irremediably after a while. The only way to mount the audio CDs then is to delete it! It's absolutely not necessary to delete CDDB Preferences (it's harmless nonetheless!) but not really a problem if you have a good internet connection. If you're happy with the crappy cddb info that is... =;) |
