USB Overdrive
Authored by: Hes Nikke on Oct 16, '01 03:16:11PM
if you want to have the buttons working while booted directly to MacOS 9, go get USB Overdrive*, it is a universal mouse driver that works with any USB mouse!

*I am in no way, shape, or form related to Alessandro Levi Montalcini, or USB Overdrive other then being an end user.

What about mouse buttons under OS X
Authored by: kkling on Nov 08, '01 10:47:06PM

I would like to swap the mouse button functions on my intellimouse under OS X (I'm left handed). Any suggestions where I might find resources for that? USBOverdrive has been promised for OS X for a long time now but no show.

IntelliPoint on the way, supposedly...

About the same as USB Overdrive, but these drivers are also apparently in the works ... in fact, I recall reading a rumor that the author of USB Overdrive wrote the first IntelliPoint drivers. Anyone know if that's true?

I think that USBOverdrive was OEMed into the MS Intellimouse drivers for OS9. The USBOverdrive site says that they nolonger OEM and says that the OS X version is in the works. It's said that for most of this year if not longer.

Would button mapping be something that could be changed with a kernel argument or something?
