Use an Aircard 555 with OS X
I wasn't able to compile this successfully -- and I held so much hope! Basically, after I compile the extension, each time I try to kextload it, I get the "Fix or Use" prompt. Regardless of what I choose, the terminal reports that the load was aborted. Anyone have any suggestions, or better yet, a compiled working extension to share??
Use an Aircard 555 with OS X
We're preparing an Aircard 555 data-only driver for OSX 10.2 for release and frantically working to get the legalities worked out. This driver has a full installer so you don't have to hack your system to make it work. Everything we've seen so far is very exciting.
In addition, our team is working to get as many of the features of this amazing card working as possible....including authentication, which for this first release will require a Windows PC. Stay tuned.... I'll post more info next week. Greg O'Lone, President Stretched Out Software Inc.
Use an Aircard 555 with OS X
I just sprang for the $30 for StetchedOutSoftware's driver, purchased my AirCard 555 over the Internet for about one-half Verizon's price, borrowed a friend's laptop PC, initialized the card, stuck it in my PB G4, and it works flawlessly. For me it's a godsend, as I have to be connected to the Internet all the time for my businss. |
