Nope. An install of OS X is universal, with one caveat: If you're doing a "build" for multiple machines, make sure you create it on the newest hardware you've got-- otherwise, the OS won't "know" about that hardware and include support for it in the install.

Apple has always had applause-worthy backwards compatibility. This trick worked with OS 8.x and OS 9.x as well. At my last job, I ran plenty of beige G3s and even some 8600s and 9600s with a build I had created on a graphite G4. Made my job really easy to only have to maintain a single build for all the Macs I supported.
