Edit the default window size of new Explorer windows
Authored by: Paul Burney on Aug 18, '03 12:26:23PM

This is a very old trick that has worked since the very early days of Mac web browsers.

- Launch the program.
- Resize the window to the size you want
- Quit the program

Next time you launch the browser, it will be that size for the default.

The probable reason it happened to you is because the last window closed when you quit was a small pop up window.

Though that works for me now, I am pretty sure it did not work before I had modified com.apple.internetconfig.plist and deleted microsoft.explorer.plist, since I've resized a lot of windows over the last couple of months and had quit the explorer inbetween and still all new windows kept popping up on the right side of the screen. Maybe some strange interaction between these two pref files.

You don't even have to quit the program. Just make sure the last open window is your preferred size, then close it. Then open a new window, and it'll be the same size.
