It's the ultimate in lazy-ass hardware. If a disproportionate amount of Americans are overweight now, wait until the Segway becomes affordable! I'd rather blow my cash-wad on a plasma TV and get fat on the couch.

Please think carefully before you outright slam a product. There are some very, very valid reasons for a product like this. For instance, to people that have a hard time walking long distances because of ailments, this can be a real blessing. Though still hard on a person that is disabled to stand for long periods of time, it does allow a person used to be locked to a wheelchair the ability to be vertical and see the world from a much different vantage point than they are accustomed to.

Words are like bullets; if they escape, you can't catch them again.

Well, yes, you're right. I know a couple people in wheelchairs, and I know how difficult the world can be when you're only three feet tall. However, the Segway's been *marketed* as the ultimate yuppie toy. C'mon, do you remember all the ridiculous hype that it will "totally change society!!!"? Yeesh.

I think it's fair game to slam it on that grounds. :)
