If you haven't noticed, command-c and command-v also works for copying files and folders. As far as I can tell command-x works like command-c though.

This works for me in 10.1, maybe it was there in previous versions too? I never tried it so I can't tell...

Move insted of copy

Hold command just after you start dragging a file and it will be moved insted of copied.
