Why seperate locations?
You can have many Ethernet connectiond in any location. Just select "New" in Network Port Configurations. Put your DHCP connection above the fixed IP connection in the Network Port Configurations list. If you are at home your Powerbook will pick up DHCP, if at work DHCP will fail and you will get your fixed IP. Yes, you will have some initial connection time lag while at work, but you'd never have to switch locations again.

Once you specify and activate the second ethernet connection, click and hold show "network port configurations." You will be able to modify network settings for each active connection. The "ON" button must be checked for the setting to show up in the list. |
