to remove your added eject menu:
1) select the folder System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras adn choose "Get Info"
2) change the owner under "Ownership and Privilages" to your account name
3) open the Menu Extras folder and drag the Eject.menu out of it to another location (you may need to change the ownership of Eject.menu to your account also)
4) change the owner of the Menu Extras folder back to "system"
5) log out and log back in

Or you could just hold the Apple key and drag the eject icon off the menu bar and 'poof' it's gone!

this is a quicker way to do it and you could drag it into the menu bar too...
