Setting a preferred browser in Lotus Notes
Authored by: pedemonte on Jul 04, '03 02:04:14PM

I have been able to set Camino as the browser in Notes 6.01. However, when I click on a link, it just brings Camino to the front; it won't actually open up the requested link unless Camino is starting up for the first time. I get the same results with Safari.

I tried your trick, and set the browser to TextEdit. Now, TextEdit redirects the call to Camino, and the link properly displays. Thanks.

Nope, this stopped working for me also. TextEdit will only properly forward the link to Camino if it hasn't been previously started. That is, it only works if clicking on a link in Notes starts TextEdit.

Yep, I get the same behaviour in Notes 6.
I tried the Notes 6.5 beta, but it still doesn't work :(

Notes 6.5 Beta, huh? Are there any improvements in that one, specifically when running in MacOSX?

Not that I've noticed, actually. In fact, I don't really see a difference at all. (But I guess that's good news for a beta.) :)

BTW, updating didn't make a difference, and I'm still relying on this silly little hack, but if it ain't broke, I'm not trying to fix it.
