Mounting iPods after waking from sleep

I've suggested using the script Unmount-Mount iPod as a short-cut fix for this dilemma in the past but have not heard the results good or bad. Sounds to me like it would assist.

Mounting iPods after waking from sleep

The script doesn't work in this situation because it queries iTunes to get the iPod device name.. and since iTunes aint seeing the iPod... what worked for me was the hint i read somewhere else about logging in as another user. i did so and since the iPod was already connected, iTunes launched automagically and everything. then i logged back in as myself and lo, magically it's working again. odd, that one. is there some account or user-level preference happening? or is it hardware? hmm.
