Use Fugu. I use it all the time, and it supports sftp and scp as well as ftp. Plus, it is freeware. Source is available(written in Cocoa), and it is fast on my G3/300.

I can't get Fugu to connect to almost any ftp sites [OK I just tried two] that other ftp apps connect fine.

What could be the problem?

sftp should work just like ftp, right?

The host needs to be running a Secure FTP server, which most are not.

Fugu, which is one of the coolest apps I've used in a long time, lets you create a tunnel through SSH then use Secure Copy across the tunnel. And its nearly as easy as Fetch, which is saying alot because SSH/SCP aren't novice tools.

According to the Fugu readme, they plan to support ftp in the future, but don't seem to yet. It seems that they only plan on anonymous ftp, also.
