SLIMP3 server (I can't create playlists)

Well, that helped... now I at least get the drop down player list. Still no sound, though...(I can hear alerts & other system sounds just fine). I've tried using both my IP address, and just "localhost" in the iTunes "open stream" dialog.

On the player, when I use the ip address, It always says, "stopped at #2 of 26" (for example). Even when iTunes appears to be playing (time is elapsing, and the triangular play buttun changed to a filled black square). If I go to iTunes directly, and hit the play button there, it starts right in playing whatever is in the menu there.

I switched to the other player (127.0.0.1), once I had the drop down, picked a new playlist, and hit play ... now the player says its playing, but it isn't. Then Itunes quit.

I guess that means it's time to get an hour of sleep before getting up to go to work...

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Using Alain Cretit's "Better Sound" system pref pane, but I don't have the iMic plugged in just now...

You might need to open port 9000 on your firewall - even if it is a local connection. Of note - whatever shows up in your drop down menu is exactly what you have to use in iTunes... they must match. So 127.0.0.1 is not teh same as localhost.. even though it is.
