Transfer email addresses from one mail app to another
Although, personally, I have only ever used Eudora and Apple's Mail, this procedure seems to be cumbersome and unnecessary. I'd expect email apps to use the central Address Book, if they're to be good citizens in OS X, or other address book applications, for that matter. Isn't this the case with Eudora, Entourage, and other third-party apps? If not, this needs to change, I believe. I can understand synchronizing between devices, but between applications? Silly, silly.

I think the only email application that uses Mac OS X's address book is Apple's Mail.app

GNUMail.app, a cross-platform mail application of OS X and GNUstep, supports Apple's Address Book on OS X. I am one of the developers and did the Address Book integration.

Entourage X was released before Apple's Address Book was created (for 10.2), so it doesn't have Address Book syncing :( The way I have found to sync them is to make your changes, then export the vCards between the two apps, i.e.:

You can drag individual emails from Entourage to the desktop and import them into Address Book as well. They show up as vCards on the desktop where you can drag and drop or import into Address Book.

If you look at your applescript folder/example scripts/email you will find a ready made applescript that imports email from various programs..try it out it's great! :) -Lobo- |
